The shark tank India startup Kabaddi Adda has raised INR 80 lakhs for the equity of 6% from Shark tank India.

The owners had first requested Rs.80 lakh for 1 per cent citing a prior investment round in the firm. They were hammered by Anupam Mittal, who accused them of appearing on the program simply for publicity. With the introduction of the Pro Kabaddi League in 2014, the sport has experienced considerable growth in its popularity and moved from being essentially non-existent in the mainstream to the second-most-watched sport in India. Anupam Mittal withdrew due to a suspicion that the founders had come on the show only for publicity. Piyush also backed out of the transaction. Finally, Namita and Vineeta offered the founders a deal of INR 80 lakhs for equity of 6 per cent.

In India, the only other platform entirely devoted to Kabaddi is Kabaddi Adda, and it’s one of the many. They were the first sports-based firm to collect financing and bring on two sharks. Kabaddi Adda is the first website in India devoted only to the sport. In 2019, four entrepreneurs came together to create this local brand.
