India is making history by hosting its very first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Film Festival at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, scheduled from November 20 to 28, 2025. This event will showcase that how many exciting ways are there that AI is reshaped in filmmaking also offering fresh ideas and creative possibilities to storytellers and audiences by the help of AI.
Showcasing AI-Powered Storytelling
This festival will show a different variety of AI-generated films across different categories including fiction, documentaries, and animation.
Collaboration Between Film and Technology
Organized by IFFI in partnership with LTIMindtree and the National Film Development Corporation, the festival serves as a platform for filmmakers and tech innovators to participate and collaborate while sharing new innovative ideas, and also exploring future of AI-driven cinema.
Hackathon and Learning Opportunities
Alongside film screenings, a 48-hour competition will also challenge developers and storytellers to create new AI tools and applications for the film industry. Workshops and masterclasses will also be there to provide reviews into the creative use of AI and how technology can enhance the art of filmmaking.

This new film festival will also focus on ethical recommendation surrounding AI in film, encouraging responsible innovation that respects human creativity.
