AI in School: In India, The Ministry of Education is all set to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking (CT) as part of school journey from Class 3 onwards, which will be beginning in 2026-27 academic year. This new step shows the country’s commitment to preparing young students for a fast-changing digital world by building their important thinking and tech skills in early phase.
Early Learning for the Future
By starting AI education in lower grades, children will get use-to and also they will build up a strong foundation in problem-solving, logical reasoning, and understanding how AI impacts our lives.
Experts Crafting the Curriculum
The AI syllabus is being developed under the National Curriculum Framework 2023, with education leaders like CBSE, NCERT, and IIT experts joining together to ensure it fits with India’s education levels. Professor Karthik Raman from IIT Madras initiated the committee, and crafted lessons that are easy to understand and inclusive of all students.
Equipping Teachers and Students
Special training programs will be helpful to teachers to get comfortable with AI concepts and teaching methods. This new update includes informative and interactive videos and digital content to engage young audience or learners and make complex ideas easier to adapt.
Ethics and Real-Life Applications
The syllabus includes the responsibility of AI use and it mainly focuses on to connect lessons with real-world problems. Through this way, students can learn new things in AI as a tool that can literally solve their challenges around them, while understanding the importance of personal privacy and ethical technology use.
